Add a TXT record for domain verification: overview showing Unique value, DNS publication, Service check

A service may request a TXT record to verify domain control. Copy the unique value exactly to the specified hostname.

Separate hostname and value

Instructions usually specify a name, type and content. Understand whether the panel appends your domain to the host field, so you do not enter it twice.

Add without replacing unrelated records

Different TXT purposes can coexist. A verification value should not overwrite SPF or DMARC. Check whether the panel is adding a record or editing an existing one.

Complete verification in the service

Verify publication at the active nameservers, then use the service’s verification control. A prior negative response may be cached. Retain the record for as long as the service requires.

Your practical checklist

  • Copy the exact value.
  • Check hostname suffix behaviour.
  • Preserve mail records.
  • Complete verification at the service.
In practice
A platform verification TXT can coexist with a separate SPF TXT record.
