A domain is registered to a real holder. Prepare accurate details in advance to avoid problems with verification, management or later changes.
Individual or organisation
Use your own full name for personal projects and the correct company identity for business registrations. Individuals do not need an invented company. Avoid registering a company asset solely in the name of a temporary employee.
Address and phone number
Use a home or office street address, including house number, postal code, city and country. A PO box is not accepted for .nl. Enter a valid international telephone number. A foreign address is not itself a barrier.
Choose an independent contact email
A working, independently accessible email is practical for the initial registration. Keep it up to date and protect it carefully. Do not share transfer codes or sign-in links with people who do not need domain-management access.
Your practical checklist
- Correct holder identity.
- Street and house number, not a PO box.
- Working email outside the new domain.
- Phone number with country code.
A Dutch freelancer living in Spain can use their actual Spanish address rather than inventing an address in the Netherlands.
